Narration Concering Books City of Ghosts (Downside Ghosts #3)
Book Summary of City Of Ghosts The third book in this gritty, sexy, urban fantasy trilogy. Rogue spirits and psychopomps are terrorising people, and now someone is planning to open the gates to the City of Ghosts and unleash the dead on humanity. Faced with her greatest challenge yet, Chess has to travel to the spirit city to finally lay all her ghosts to rest... Chess Putnam has a lot on her plate. Mangled human corpses have started to show up on the streets of Downside, and Chess's bosses at the Church of Real Truth have ordered her to team up with the ultra-powerful Black Squad agency to crack the grisly case. Chess is under a binding spell that threatens death if she talks about the investigation, but the city's most notorious crime boss ? and Chess's drug dealer ? gets wind of her new assignment and insists on being kept informed. If that isn't bad enough, a sinister street vendor appears to have information Chess needs. Only he's not telling what he knows, or what it all has to do with the vast underground City of Eternity. Now Chess will have to navigate killer wraiths and a lot of seriously nasty magic ? all while coping with some not-so-small issues of her own. And the only man she can trust to help her through it all has every reason to want her dead. This review was posted at Under The CoversDear Ms. Kane,I finished reading City of Ghosts and I'm utterly speechless. This is one of my favorite books this year. I'll be honest with you and say that after I read book one I wasn't totally sold on the idea of a heroine with a drug problem, among her other issues. After following Chess stumble across her life through the past three books all I can say is it takes a truly talented author to bring out so much emotion and the depth of connection thatRe-read audible nov 2015 -"You know I do, aye? Love you right, Chessiebomb."Love love this book! Mother fucking hell its sooo good! I live for the bathroom scene and the underground train scene and the uber sweet ending! hot damn!
I have now read all three books of the 'Downside Ghosts' series in quick succession and I am so glad I did. I don't think I could have waited a year for each book to be released. I am already having withdrawal symptoms knowing I have to wait until autumn 2011 for book four, it's well...agonising.This is such a fantastic series. There's enough kick-arse action to keep urban fantasy fans happy, but with the addition of the most heart-wrenching romance between Chess and Terrible, Paranormal Romance

Update 7/19/12: If it was even possible, I love Stacia Kane even more than before:http://www.staciakane.net/2012/07/11/...___________________________________________I cried again. I had no idea I was such a wuss. Friends, please don't judge me: I wasn't lying, I really don't like this torrid love affair kind of stuff and if the plot wasn't string enough on its own I wouldn't be reading this series. At least there is finally something definitive on the love front. I don't have to run out and get
So... the ridiculous thing? Ever since I finished Shadowfever in March 2011, I've been searching frantically for an adult series that was about more than just romance and sex, an urban fantasy series that was actually well-written with a good mystery going on. I have now finally found that well-written urban fantasy series + mystery and all I can think about is "when will Terrible show up and - more importantly - will there be sexytimes?!"
I can't believe that I've just discovered the amazing force that is Stacia Kane. Say what you will about this series, but her brilliance behind the pen is almost shocking. Especially in a time like this, where anyone with a laptop and an Amazon account can call themselves an author. (Note: No offence intended, I've been known to love those stories, too!) Sometimes, while reading these books, I have to take a step back and just appreciate the writing ability behind this story. There are so many
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ No spoilers and colorful language abound! Unholy Ghosts ReviewUnholy Magic ReviewI am only three books into this series and I know without a moments hesitation that there will never be another that can fill the hole it will inevitably leave in my chest. Its' no holds barred absurdly ridiculous characters, the juxtaposition of the depths they can sink to the sudden heights they can sore is un-fucking-paralled. The hardened aloofness of a Downsider allows the reader to judge them
