Relation As Books The Romantic Obsessions and Humiliations of Annie Sehlmeier
I had to add this book to my list because it was a pivotal book for my teens. There are parts in this book that, for whatever reason, I actually was so mortified for the girl that I sobbed as only a horrified teenage soul can. I still (at age 40) remember that vivid emotional breakdown. So I add it to my list. Probably not the most thought-provoking book ever written but man, did it make an impression on me. I haven't looked at toilet papering the same since! I bought a copy on Amazon.com for a penny if anyone wants to borrow it! hahahaRating Epithetical Books The Romantic Obsessions and Humiliations of Annie Sehlmeier

A coming of age romance. A family from the Netherlands moves to Salt Lake City and the two teenage girls adjust to the life of Americans. High school becomes a wild adventure as the girls deal with boys, crushes, English, and life in general. Full of the embarrassments and pitfalls of high school.I had to add this book to my list because it was a pivotal book for my teens. A librarian recommended this book to me when I was in junior high, and I will always be thankful. This is one of my all-time favorite books. I've read it at least three of four times. I even own two copies of the book in case I lose one. This story painfully illustrates the extreme highs and lows a teenager experiences. These are characters I've never been able to forget. Louise Plummer's characters are so believable, and I especially relate to Annie, her passion and the crazy, humiliating and

Great characters, great premise. Also, I am big into quiet, slice of life stories and this book fits the bill.
A nice quick dessert kind of book. Just really great snack food.
Louise Plummer is good writer, and I was laughing and crying and flinching in embarrassment with her heroine--a teenage girl.
It was an interesting read, mainly because it's target audience is teenage girls, and it's an older book as well, a little slower, a little dated. But it's a great family novel, it was interesting to see how the relationship of the two sisters developed and learned to get along even with their differences. A pretty good family novel. Oh and it takes place in Utah with a lot of LDS characters
