Thoroughly enjoyed this latest episode of The Green Ember series. Kudos to author, S.D. Smith for another inspiring tale of adventure. When I revealed its arrival to my kids, my 14 year old actually jumped up and down with glee at its arrival! It doesn't disappoint: lots of loyal friendships, exciting battles, and brave heroes. Such an amazing book! I thought this was a three book series but with this ending we will have to get more. Some of the lines in this book make you stop and think... which is hard when reading aloud to kids. Highly recommend.

This book. THIS BOOK! I just cannot believe it. S.D. Smith NEEDS to write several more books in this series! And that ending! MAN! Did NOT see that coming! All in all, this book and the Green Ember series are staying in my favorite list!

Pheeew. Talk about your quality children's literature. The Green Ember series just gets better and better as it goes along. You know how there are a lot of kid books that you read with no genuine expectation that bad things might happen? That characters you love might die? These are not such books.
