Chronicle As Books Kristy's Great Idea (Baby-Sitters Club Graphic Novels #1)

In this new graphic novel edition of the very first Baby-Sitters Club book, Raina Telgemeier captures all the drama of the original in warm, spunky illustrations. Witness Kristy's eureka moment, when she gets the idea for a "baby-sitters club" and enlists her best friends, shy Mary Anne and artistic Claudia, in an exciting new venture. But the baby-sitting business isn't the only thing absorbing their attention: Kristy is having a hard time accepting her stepdad-to-be, and the newest member of the gang, Stacey, seems to be hiding a secret.

Write-Up Based On Books Kristy's Great Idea (Baby-Sitters Club Graphic Novels #1)
When I was between the ages of 8 and 12, I LOVED the BSC. I remember I even wrote to Ann M. Martin and she (or her ghostwriter) wrote back 3 solid pages of reply, which made me love her even more. Then, my mom unceremoniously have away all my BSC books to some friend of hers, and have been upset about it for like, a solid 22 years now. Imagine the joy when I saw that there was a graphic novel version, and its still as great as I remember it being. Theres a lot thats outdated (hello, only one of

I devoured this book last night. How fun- I was such a fan of the BSC as a kid and it's great to live through these characters' stories in a new way. Divorce, diabetes, weird babysitting jobs... it's all still relevant. I was so impressed, I wrote an email to Raina Telgemeier, adapter/illustrator today. She wrote me back and was so sweet! She said she'd let me know when she's in Austin. How cool is that? I can't wait to read the 2nd and 3rd issues, and apparently Raina just finished the 4th, as

loved the art, characters, and the plot! this is such a fun, easy story to read and i read it in one sitting.

This was my first Baby-Sitters Club experience and I loved it!

Cute reinterpretation of a series I remember fondly, but for a new generation. It manages to update fairly well, though I noticed cell phones don't seem to exist in this. I guess that makes sense since the concept of people reaching a landline at specific times and days to book babysitters is a little unavoidably dated!

I heard about this graphic novel version of the first book in The Babysitters Club series right as I started rereading and revisiting favorite books from my childhood. The illustrations enhance this awesome story. I'm so glad I read this! This would make a great gift for any former or current BSC fan!

Nothing quite beats the feeling from walking into the library not knowing what to get and walking away victoriously with two exciting reads. Raina Telgemeier graphic novel adaption to the Baby-Sitters Club with Kristy's Great Idea was one of them. One of my greatest accomplishments as a big sister is passing on my love for books to my ten-year-old sister, and I can thank in part Raina Telgemeier's graphic novels for kicking it off with a bang, specifically with Sisters, which my sister still
