Explanation Toward Books The Sword of Truth, Boxed Set I: Wizard's First Rule, Blood of the Fold, Stone of Tears (Sword of Truth #1-3)

The Sword of Truth, Boxed Set I, Books 1-3
Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, and Blood of the Fold

Book 1: Wizards First Rule
The masterpiece that started The New York Times bestselling epic Sword of Truth

In the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father, a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, appears in Richard Cypher's forest sanctuary seeking help . . . and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence.

In a dark age it takes courage to live, and more than mere courage to challenge those who hold dominion, Richard and Kahlan must take up that challenge or become the next victims. Beyond awaits a bewitching land where even the best of their hearts could betray them. Yet, Richard fears nothing so much as what secrets his sword might reveal about his own soul. Falling in love would destroy them--for reasons Richard can't imagine and Kahlan dare not say.
In their darkest hour, hunted relentlessly, tormented by treachery and loss, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword--to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed . . . or that their time has run out.
This is the beginning. One book. One Rule. Witness the birth of a legend.

Book 2: Stone of Tears
An Epic of Awesome Power

Kahlan has at last gained the one goal she had always thought was beyond her grasp ... love. Against all odds, the ancient bonds of secret oaths, and the dark talents of men long dead, Richard has won her heart.

Amid sudden and disastrous events, Richard's life is called due to satisfy those treacherous oaths. To save his life, Kahlan must forsake Richard's love and cast him into the chains of slavery, knowing there could be no sin worse than such a betrayal.

Richard is determined to unlock the secrets bound in the magic of ancient oaths and to again be free. Kahlan, alone with the terrible truth of what she has done, must set about altering the course of a world thrown into war. But even that may be easier than ever winning back the heart of the only man she will ever love.

Book 3: Blood of the Fold
An Epic of Two Worlds

In a world as rich and real as our own, Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell stand against the ancient forces which besiege the New World-- forces so terrible that when last they threatened, they could only be withstood by sealing off the Old World from whence they came. Now the barrier has been breached, and the New World is again beset by their evil power.

War and treachery plague the world, and only Richard and Kahlan can save it from an armageddon of unimaginable savagery and destruction.

Terry Goodkind, author of the brilliant bestsellers Wizard's First Rule and Stone of Tears, has created his most masterful epic yet, a sumptuous feast of magic and excitement replete with the wonders of his unique fantasy vision.

Appraise About Books The Sword of Truth, Boxed Set I: Wizard's First Rule, Blood of the Fold, Stone of Tears (Sword of Truth #1-3)
The story line was amazing. I could never tell what was going to happen next. I loved the insights and psychology behind the characters actions/ reactions. However, this book was way to graphic. It is about battle between good and evil, but the evil portrayed in this book was way to dark, graphic, and explicit for me. I read the whole series to get closure and see how it ends, but I will never be able to make myself go through the trauma of reading them again. As soon as I finished the series, I

Keeps you always wanting more. Characters are super lovable. Great Messages

Hoo boy, the Sword of Truth. This is certainly one of the most divisive series I've ever read. I picked this one up the first time on a school trip in High School, sometime after getting through the Shannara series. Wizard's First Rule is pretty typical Tolkienian fantasy, with some interesting concepts on magic. With blood. Lots of blood. And sex. LOTS of sex. They wasted their time adapting this one for basic cable, it belonged on Showtime or HBO.Overall I found these first few volumes quite

This is a review of all the books in the series (yes, all of them, including the sequels and prequels). As such, some books are better than others, but my overall rating for the series is a solid three stars. I liked it and I don't feel like I had time stolen from me. But for me there's not much more to it either. The writing is ok; really good at times, pretty average at times, and forced at times. The biggest issue I have with the series is it's cohesion. It doesn't feel like a series at times,

This series of novels was honostly what got me into reading. The epic tale of Richard is simply amazing when I rea these books I can't put them down iv read te entire series a couple of times while ou to sea in the navy. It's stories like this that make it a lil easier to be out to sea an away from those who love you for so long.

This series puts the show that was loosly based off of it to shame. The characters are so much cooler in the book, magic so much stronger, and story so much more interesting. The world built up in the books is so captivating. From the people go the lands themselfs. The conflicks and twist in the story had me not wanting to put the books down. I fell in love with almost all the main characters. I like the fact that kahlan isnt the type of female charater that always has to be rescued. If shes in

Terry Goodkind is nothing short of amazing!! His characters are very real ...not wholly good nor bad...but people you want to know better. Mr. Goodkind creates a world were even the worst of us can have some redeaming qualities. The Sword of truth series is a must read for the serious student of mankind. I cannot wait until the Disney TV Series based on Wizards First Rule is available for viewing!!!WIZARD'S FIRST RULE: 'People are stupid; given proper motivation almost anyone will believe almost
